Haba is a family owned company founded in Germany in 1938 by Anton Engel and Eugen Habermaaß The Habermaaß family continues to run the company today making fun and educational toys, while making sure to do so in an environmentally friendy way. Haba's first products were smooth, carefully polished building blocks for babies, made from locally derived hardwoods. These same wooden blocks are still made  by Haba today!
